This year was the newest version of the English regents. Alot of kids that took it in the past were upset because they made it easier. In previous years, it was a 6 hour test divided into 2 days, with about 6 essays . This was the first year that it only had 1 essay, 25 multiple choice, and 2 short responses. The state will be able to curve the test making the majority of students to pass. So theres pretty much no possible way any one can fail.
The quote for the easy was really hard though but once I got started it became easier. The quote was something like the world is full of suffrage but it is also full of overcoming it. When I saw that I was stumped. I had no idea how I can compare that to any books so i just made something up. I used novels To Kill A Mocking Bird and Oliver Twist. The bad part was that i didnt know the names of the authors. I said one of the themes of To Kill A Mocking Bird was be a leader not a follower. I spoke about how Atticus didnt listen to the community when they discouraged his choice to defend a black man against a white family in a rape case. His attempt to over come black sufferage. I also included the irony how he tried to win a case he knew he would lose and how they lost in the end. For the other novel I just babbled on about his sufferage in the orfanage and how his characterization always led him to the right choices and in the in he over came all of his disadvantages.
On the multiple choice I got a 22/25 . for the short responses I got 2/2 on both of them and for the essay a 4/6 (:
